Practices on lifestyle blocks and farms impact on the safety and suitability of animals for
processing and on the resulting animal products' eligibility for trade. Knowledge of these practices is essential for our export trade. The purpose of the ASD is to transfer key information about an animal, or group or animals, to the next person in charge of the animals, and ultimately to the processor.
This template is intended for small to medium sized operations which manufacture cheese for the domestic market (Australia and New Zealand only) in accordance with the permitted methods of processing as described in the Food (Milk and Milk Products Processing) Standard 2007
The Guidance for the Use of the RMP Template for the Transport of Dairy Material and Dairy Products explains the application and use of the RMP template. It also provides instructions on how to complete this RMP template. The person completing this template must read these instructions while completing the form to ensure that correct information is provided.
Despite the general requirement that a risk management programme is tailored to the individual business concerned, section 12(3A) of the Animal Products Act 1999 (“the Act”) allows for a risk management programme for a particular business, or part of a business, to be based on a template, a model, or a code of practice, if in the view of the Director-General the template, model or code of practice is valid and appropriate for businesses of that kind.
